For months now it’s seemed like a potential Undertaker vs. John Cena match at WrestleMania 33 was a foregone conclusion. But it was recently reported that Vince McMahon has changed his mind on a potential Cena vs. Taker match, and the bout will no longer be happening at WrestleMania 33. Dave Meltzer broke the news about the match being off, and a fan asked him on Twitter why Vince McMahon changed plans, and Meltzer noted that McMahon is looking toward the future.
What that means in regards to The Undertaker’s new WrestleMania opponent remains to be seen, but Taker will reportedly be facing a Raw star who is not Braun Strowman. With Braun Strowman not lined up to be his opponent, and recent reports indicating that Taker will not be involved in a title match, it should be interesting to see who he ends up facing at the big event.
There’s still a ways to go before we reach WrestleMania 33, and fans will get a chance to see The Undertaker in action when he competes in the Royal Rumble match on January 29.
