The wrestling world has had to make some major adjustments due to the coronavirus pandemic, and months ago WWE moved their TV tapings to the Performance Center in Orlando, FL.
Monday Night Raw and Friday Night SmackDown ratings have been declining as of late, whereas shows like AEW and NXT have mostly held steady in terms of viewership.
During WWE’s Second Quarter 2020 earnings call Vince McMahon was asked why he thinks AEW and NXT have bounced back better than Raw and SmackDown during the pandemic, and he indicated that WWE will be going with a more youthful feel moving forward.
“That was a lot. I think some of those are new. It’s something that’s new, and what have you, and it’s up to us to make RAW and SmackDown feel more youthful. That is where we’re going.”
Vince also noted that the company has to constantly create new characters, and that Triple H does help out with Raw and SmackDown.
