AJ Styles made his big debut with WWE at the Royal Rumble in 2016 and he quickly became one of the top stars in the company. On his way to the top of the company Styles had to win over Vince McMahon who apparently was not familiar with AJ’s work.

During a recent episode of the Stories with Brisco and Bradshaw podcast JBL noted that Vince McMahon was asking about AJ Styles when he first joined the company. JBL then had to speak up and inform Vince that he had seen The Phenomenal One’s work from Japan.

“When AJ came in, Vince was talking to some of the guys around, and they were kinda giving some ideas to Vince, and Vince said, ‘What’s his style?’ and none of the guys had seen him work.”

“I was the only one. I go, ‘Vince, I’ve seen his work from Japan.’ And Vince was like, ‘Are you the only one that’s seen him work?’ ‘You’re working the rest of the guys to death, Vince. Nobody else has the time to watch anything else except for me [laughs].'”

AJ Styles has won numerous championships since signing with WWE and he currently has his sights set on the Intercontinental Championship. Originally AJ Styles was set to challenge Dominik Mysterio for the belt at Night of Champions, but the match was canceled after Dominik was pulled from the show due to injury. Styles is still expected to challenge Dominik for the belt when Dominik is cleared.
