A lot of interesting things have happened in wrestling over the last few years and back in April of 2019 fans saw ROH and NJPW team up to present the G1 Supercard. The massive event took place from Madison Square Garden and tickets for the show sold out.
Chris Jericho did not appear at the G1 Supercard, but during a recent episode of Talk Is Jericho he revealed that originally he was set to be a part of the show before some big names asked him not to participate.
“I was actually going to go against Tanahashi. And then both Tony Khan and Vince McMahon asked me not to do it. That’s a whole other story, we could do a whole podcast just on that. But I didn’t do the show.”
For years Madison Square Garden was thought of as WWE’s home, so it’s not all that surprising that Vince McMahon didn’t want Chris Jericho to be part of the show.
Chris Jericho will be in action tonight on AEW Dynamite when he teams up with Jake Hager to face fellow Inner Circle members Santana & Ortiz in a no disqualification match. Stay tuned for updates.
