Rey Mysterio defeated Samoa Joe to win the US Title in short time at the Money in the Bank pay-per-view a few weeks ago, but unfortunately Mysterio suffered an injury after the match.
Mysterio was force to vacate the title due to the injury, and the belt was given back to Samoa Joe.
On Monday Night Raw, The Miz, Bobby Lashley, Ricochet, Braun Strowman and Cesaro faced off in a Fatal 5-Way to determine the new number one contender for the US Title.
It came down to Ricochet and The Miz, and in the end it was Ricochet who won after he put Miz away with the 630.
