PWInsider is reporting that John Cena handing the World Heavyweight Championship over to Ric Flair on Raw was indeed WWE’s way of phasing the belt out. As we reported earlier WWE will officially be changing their logo to the WWE Network logo after SummerSlam which is another reason behind their decision to retire the belt.
Whoever holds the title will still be referred to as the WWE World Heavyweight Champion but they will only carry one belt.
