Now that WWE Raw and SmackDown Live are separate brands, both brands get their own exclusive pay-per-view events. Old pay-per-views such as Backlash and No Mercy have returned since the brand split, and a new pay-per-view named Great Balls of Fire was also introduced. Now it looks like yet another old PPV concept could be returning.
WWE recently applied to trademark the term Taboo Tuesday and the Wrestling Observer Newsletter reports that there’s speculation that the Taboo Tuesday concept could be used for an episode of SmackDown Live.
Taboo Tuesday was an interactive event where fans were allowed to vote on different match stipulations, and even choose the opponents for certain bouts.
When WWE introduced fans to Talking Smack last summer, the show received a lot of praise. Fans seemed to love the fact that the show gave the stars of SmackDown Live a chance to show a different side of themselves, but unfortunately the show is no longer a weekly series.
Talking Smack now only airs after SmackDown Live exclusive pay-per-views, and hosts Daniel Bryan and Renee Young weren’t very happy when they heard the news.
Daniel Bryan tried to keep things going by broadcasting his own version of the show called Smacking Talk via Tout, but so far only one episode has aired.
It’s being reported that that the Smacking Talk broadcast was only meant to be a one time thing.
