Samoa Joe has been on a roll as of late, and he’s been bringing the fight to Roman Reigns. Joe appeared on Monday Night Raw this week, and after his match he made a huge announcement when he confirmed that he would be entering the Royal Rumble match, but it was later revealed that Joe had injured himself on Raw.
Samoa Joe felt a pop in his foot during his match with Rhyno, and the early diagnosis is that he suffered a plantar fascia rupture, which is a tissue rupture in his foot. Joe will be getting an MRI to confirm the injury, and it’s expected that he’ll be wearing a boot, walking with crutches, and getting platelet rich plasma injections in his foot.
The recovery time for his injury is unknown, and it’s said that he could be out anywhere from two weeks to two months. Joe should be good for WrestleMania, but the Wrestling Observer Newsletter is reporting that his status is “touch and go” for the Royal Rumble.
The timing of the injury is extremely unfortunate for Samoa Joe as it caused him to be pulled from WWE Mixed Match Challenge. Joe was also scheduled to work with John Cena at upcoming WWE live events.
