Last year WWE introduced the world to ThunderDome at the Amway Center in Orlando, and for the last few months Tropicana Field in Tampa, FL has been home to WWE ThunderDome. But soon WWE will have to say goodbye to Tropicana Field, and the company will be moving to a new location for TV tapings.
Jon Alba is reporting that the expectation is WWE will remain in Tampa after ThunderDome’s run at Tropicana Field comes to an end. The belief is that WWE will be moving to the Yuengling Center at the University of South Florida.
At this point it’s not clear if WWE would be moving to the Yuengling Center for a long term residency, but multiple sources are claiming WWE travel is booked through Tampa for the immediate future.
Alba also noted that a few days ago USF said they wouldn’t be surprised to see the move happen and the belief is that the schedule is open.
It’s unknown if WWE will be allowing fans to attend events, or if the ThunderDome setup will return. Capacity for the Yuengling Center is about 10,400.
I requested comment from both #WWE and arena management but have not heard from either as of this time. It’s unclear if it would be a long-term residency or what the setup would be. But multiple people said travel is booked through Tampa going forward for the immediate future.

I do not know the status of fans present, or if it would be the ThunderDome setup. The Yuengling Center is smaller than Amway Center or Tropicana Field, capacity is about 10,400. #WWE
