The Fiend has been the WWE Universal Champion for months now, and even though he’s one of the most popular characters in the company it’s no big secret that fans haven’t been enjoying the red lights that are used during his matches.
Fans were given some hope at the Royal Rumble a few weeks ago when The Fiend faced Daniel Bryan in a strap match and the red lights weren’t used.
However, Cagesideseats notes that the situation with the Daniel Bryan match was a one off, and The Fiend’s matches will continue to use red lights moving forward.
This is certainly not a decision that will make the majority of the fans happy, but nevertheless WWE seems committed to the idea of using the red lights.
The Fiend will be in action on February 27 when he defends his Universal Championship against Goldberg in Saudi Arabia.
