Recently fans have been seeing a lot of crossover between Raw and SmackDown and it seems that the brand split is not being enforced right now. Bryan Alvarez addressed the current situation with the brand split on Wrestling Observer Live recently while noting that the brand split is essentially done.
“I mean they haven’t officially said anything, but the brand extension is essentially done. Half of the Raw crew is going to be on SmackDown Friday. Cody’s going to be there, I think Seth is going to be there. They’re just going to do whatever,” Alvarez said.
It was recently reported by PWInsider that current Raw stars Seth Rollins, Kevin Owens and Cody Rhodes are all set to be at the Friday Night SmackDown tapings this week at the Simmons Bank Arena.
With Roman Reigns unifying the two top championships in the company at WrestleMania 38, and The Usos unifying the tag team titles on the latest episode of SmackDown there’s been no indication that WWE will be splitting the belts up again anytime soon. One way or another it will be interesting to see where the title picture goes from here for both the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship and the tag team division. Stay tuned for more updates as they become available.
