CM Punk won the AEW World Championship when he defeated Adam Page at the Double or Nothing pay-per-view back in May, but his celebration was short-lived as he announced a few days later that he would have to take time off due to injury.
Punk last wrestled on the June 1 episode of AEW Dynamite and in his absence Jon Moxley has been crowned interim AEW World Champion. Dave Meltzer recently addressed Punk’s injury on Wrestling Observer Radio and he noted that it “should not be long” before Punk returns.
Meltzer added that Punk likely won’t be back in July or August, but could perhaps return in time for the All Out pay-per-view, or Full Gear in a few months.
AEW recently announced that All Out will take place from the Now Arena on September 4. Stay tuned for more updates as they become available.
