It was recently reported that Adam Cole’s WWE contract was set to expire in July, but the former NXT Champion signed an extension that would keep him with the company through SummerSlam weekend.
PWInsider is reporting that Adam Cole’s current deal with WWE is set to expire at the end of the week with Fightful Select reporting that the deal will expire on Friday.
It’s also being reported that internally Adam Cole is considered to be done with the company unless he ends up signing a new deal. Cole is not expected to appear on AEW programming this week as he would not be free to enter contract discussions with another company until the end of the week.
It was reported that ideas were pitched for Adam Cole to join Raw or SmackDown if he ends up signing a new deal with WWE, but it’s not clear whether or not that will end up happening. There’s also speculation that Cole may end up joining Britt Baker in AEW. Stay tuned for updates.
