Roman Reigns has been WWE’s top star for years now, and originally he was set to compete in one of the biggest matches at WrestleMania 36 last month. The Big Dog was booked to challenge Goldberg for the Universal Championship, but he pulled out of the show due to health concerns and he was replaced by Braun Strowman.
Fans haven’t seen Roman Reigns on Friday Night SmackDown in weeks, and it was recently reported that his name is not to be mentioned on WWE programming.
This week on Raw WWE showed a clip of Seth Rollins cashing in his Money in the Bank briefcase at WrestleMania 31, and the clip got a lot of people talking because Roman Reigns was edited out of it.
The Wrestling Observer Newsletter reports that there isn’t a rule when it comes to erasing Reigns, but commentators are still not allowed to mention his name.
It’s also being said that Vince McMahon’s stance on how to handle the situation “changes daily based on which way the wind is blowing.” That’s why one day the company can show footage of him beating Triple H, but then he’s edited out of Raw, then they show no clips of him in Make-A-Wish video packages, only for Vince not to mention Roman’s name during an investment conference, and then WWE airs a one hour special on him in FS1.
