Update On The Rock’s Status For WrestleMania 41

Last year The Rock made his big return to the ring at WrestleMania 40, and there’s been a lot of speculation regarding his status for WrestleMania 41.

The Wrestling Observer Newsletter reports that as of right now it appears that The Rock won’t be working the show. It’s possible WWE could be keeping his involvement with WrestleMania quiet, but so far there have been no hints or indications he’ll be wrestling at the event.

During the Raw premiere on Netflix, The Rock blew off his feud with Cody Rhodes. If Rock were to change his mind and decide he wants to work with Cody at WrestleMania it would take Cena out of the title picture, and would mean a lot of people have been lied to internally.

Roman Reigns was recently written off TV at the Royal Rumble when Seth Rollins hit him with a stomp on the floor, followed by another stomp on the steel ring steps. In order to set up a potential Rock vs. Reigns match WWE would have to blow off the angle they just did with Rollins injuring Roman Reigns.

It’s being reported that even before his appearance at Bad Blood in October, The Rock and his agent had told WWE that his schedule wouldn’t allow him to work WrestleMania in April. The angle was simply shot because The Rock wanted to do it, and anything he wants he’s going to do.

Moving forward it’s always possible that The Rock could change his mind and get whatever match he wanted. There’s speculation that Rock will still make some type of appearance at WrestleMania, but that’s not confirmed, and he’s not currently being advertised for the show.
