Update On SummerSlam Plans For Sting

It was noted earlier in the week that PWInsider was reporting WWE didn’t have any plans to use Sting at SummerSlam on August 23rd. The Wrestling Observer Newsletter is now backing that report up saying that plans to use Sting at the show have been dropped.

The original plan was to have Sting team with Roman Reigns and Dean Ambrose to take on The Wyatt Family in a six man tag match. Sting was even being advertised in a SummerSlam commercial but that advertisement was cut over a week ago. Sting had also reportedly gotten himself into really good shape for the match.

There’s no word yet as to if the six man tag match is still planned or if it will just be a regular tag team match.
