Fans were disappointed when WWE announced that Shinsuke Nakamura wouldn’t be challenging Jeff Hardy for the United States Championship on SmackDown Live this week due to injury.
It was later revealed that Nakamura has been dealing with a leg injury after he was bit by a police dog at the Rabobank Arena in Bakersfield, CA on Monday.
According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Shinsuke Nakamura still hasn’t been cleared for in-ring competition. Nakamura was set to wrestle at the live events in Japan at Tokyo Sumo Hall this weekend, but he is said to be off the active roster until he is medically cleared, and it remains to be seen whether or not he’ll be cleared in time.
Nakamura was working out at the gym in the Rabobank Arena when a police dog trained to sniff out explosives entered the gym and bit him.
He was given medical attention at the arena and then transported to a local hospital.
Even though he has been pulled from in-ring competition, Shinsuke Nakamura’s injury is said to not be serious.
