The McMahons have been a very hot topic in the world of professional wrestling recently as Vince McMahon returned to the WWE Board of Directors last week and it’s no big secret that he’s looking to sell the company. Earlier this week Stephanie McMahon announced that she had resigned from her position as Co-CEO and Chairwoman of WWE.
With all of the drama surrounding the McMahons there’s been little talk of Shane McMahon. The former European Champion last appeared on TV when he competed in the 2022 men’s Royal Rumble match, but shortly after Shane quietly disappeared from WWE programming.
A recent SEC filing notes that WWE retained Shane McMahon as an independent contractor performer in 2022 and he received approximately $828,000 from the company last year.
Following the Royal Rumble last year it was reported that Shane McMahon had fallen out of favor with WWE due to backstage heat stemming from the work he did as a producer for the men’s Royal Rumble match. There’s currently no word on whether or not he could make an appearance on WWE programming at some point in the future. Stay tuned for more updates as they become available.
