Last weekend WrestleMania 39 aired live from SoFi Stadium, and during night 2 of the Show of Shows fans saw Shane McMahon make his surprise return when he challenged The Miz to an impromptu match on the Grandest Stage of Them All.
The match did last long as Shane got injured when he went for a leapfrog and then he was removed from the ring. Snoop Dogg improvised by hitting The Miz with the People’s Elbow and pinning him. Triple H later said during the post-show press conference that Shane McMahon had blown out his quad.
PWInsider Elite is reporting that Shane McMahon was flown to Birmingham, AL on Sunday night immediately after he suffered the injury, and it’s assumed that he underwent surgery to repair his torn quad.
It was also noted that it’s unknown if WWE had any plans for Shane after WrestleMania 39 or if his appearance at the Showcase of the Immortals was just supposed to be a one time thing. Prior to his return at WrestleMania 39, Shane last appeared on WWE programming when he competed in the 2022 men’s Royal Rumble match. Stay tuned for updates.
