WWE has yet to make an official statement regarding the injury Sami Zayn suffered on Raw, however The Wrestling Observer Newsletter is reporting that talk in the locker room Tuesday night was that he may be out for several months. It was also noted that two other sources say that WWE still has not received a report back from the doctor.
If Zayn’s injury keeps him out of action this means that his NXT Championship match against Kevin Owens will obviously have to be nixed and someone else will have to challenge Owens for the belt, possible Hideo Itami or Finn Balor.
On a related note, Bret Hart helped Cena and Zayn put together their match on Monday night with the focus being on getting Sami over with the crowd even though he was taking the loss. Sami’s match on Monday reportedly wasn’t meant to be his full time main roster debut but he was scheduled to work SmackDown before he was injured.
