Rey Mysterio made his WWE return at the Royal Rumble back in January, and since then everyone has been wondering when he might be stepping back into a WWE ring again.
Mysterio has said that he’s open to returning to WWE under the right circumstances, but when that might happen remains to be seen.
The former WWE World Heavyweight Champion recently suffered a bicep injury, and he was pulled from his match with Jushin “Thunder” Liger at the NJPW Strong Style Evolved event on March 25th.
It’s been rumored that Mysterio could be Braun Strowman’s tag team partner at WrestleMania on Sunday, but Mysterio has denied that he’ll be appearing at the event.
The Wrestling Observer Newsletter is reporting that as of last week Rey had not signed a deal with WWE. However, it’s also being reported that he worked the Royal Rumble in January without a contract.
Of course if Rey does end up making an appearance at Mania, it certainly wouldn’t be the first time a wrestler has lied about their status to keep a secret. It’s worth noting that there were several female talents who denied they would be appearing in the first ever women’s Royal Rumble match in January, but ultimately they ended up working the match.
