WrestleMania 39 is only a few week away and so far three title matches have been confirmed for WWE’s biggest show of the year. Cody Rhodes will be challenging Roman Reigns for the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship on the Grandest Stage of Them All, and the Wrestling Observer Newsletter reports that Rhodes vs. Reigns is expected to main event night 2.
Currently there is no decision on what the main event will be for night 1, but the internal feeling is that Charlotte Flair vs. Rhea Ripley for the SmackDown Women’s Championship is the favorite for that spot.
There is a push for a women’s match to main event night 1 both for political reasons and sponsors after men main evented both nights at WrestleMania 38 last year. The feeling is that Charlotte Flair vs. Rhea Ripley is stronger than Asuka vs. Bianca Belair for the main event.
Another match that could be a possible favorite for the night 1 main event is Sami Zayn & Kevin Owens vs. The Usos, but WWE has yet to confirm that match for the WrestleMania 39 card. Stay tuned for updates.
