The fans waited several years for The Shield to reunite, and last month the trio came together and quickly reminded fans how dominant they could be. They were originally set to face off against Miz, Cesaro, Sheamus, Braun Strowman and Kane at TLC, but Roman Reigns was pulled from the match due to a viral infection and Kurt Angle took his place.
Fans are still waiting to see Reigns, Rollins and Ambrose wrestle as a group, and after Ambrose and Rollins lost the Tag Team Titles on this week’s episode of Raw due to a distraction from The New Day, it’s been speculated that we’ll be seeing New Day vs. The Shield at Survivor Series.
WWE recently confirmed that Roman Reigns will be returning on Raw next week, and PWInsider is now reporting that The New Day vs. The Shield is booked for the Survivor Series pay-per-view.
However, the report notes that it’s not clear at this point in time if it will be a tag team match with the third member of each team standing at ringside, or if it will be a straight up six man tag team match.
Roman Reigns and Big E are already teasing the match on Twitter, and Roman Reigns recently made his first comments since taking his leave of absence from WWE due to his illness.
