The Money in the Bank ladder match is one of the most exciting matches in all of WWE and winning a guaranteed title shot can change a wrestler’s career forever.
Recently there’s been talk that WWE could be making changes to their premium live event schedule by removing Money in the Bank and putting the MITB ladder matches back on the WrestleMania card. Fightful Select reports that higher ups and people in creative in WWE have said it isn’t impossible for that to happen, but the idea had not come across their desks yet.
It’s also been rumored that LA Knight was penciled in to win the Money in the Bank contract, but that doesn’t seem to be the case. One WWE source praised LA Knight for being a great performer while noting that the company doesn’t have any definitive plans for Money in the Bank next year.
The same source also added that if the company wanted Money in the Bank on LA Knight so bad they could have easily had Austin Theory drop the briefcase to Knight. However, a Money in the Bank win for LA Knight has not been discussed.
