Update On Plans For A Third Money In The Bank Ladder Match

The annual Money in the Bank pay-per-view is set to air on the WWE Network in a few weeks, and so far it’s been confirmed that the men and the women will be competing in ladder matches as they attempt to earn guaranteed title shots.

It was rumored that WWE officials were considering a third Money in the Bank ladder match for this year’s event which would have seen tag teams compete for a briefcase, but it doesn’t look like that’s going to be happening.

The Wrestling Observer Newsletter is reporting that with one member of The New Day joining the men’s ladder match, and tag teams no longer doing promos focused on Money in the Bank, WWE appears to have dropped the idea.

In regards to spots that still need to be filled in the men’s and women’s ladder matches, WWE recently announced that Samoa Joe will face Big Cass in a Money in the Bank qualifying match, and Lana will be facing Billie Kay in another qualifying match next week.
