You never know when a familiar face might show up in All Elite Wrestling and back in 2020 it was Miro (formerly known as Rusev in WWE) who made his debut with the company. Fans haven’t seen much of Miro on AEW programming lately and it was recently reported that the former TNT Champion requested to be released from his contract.
During a recent episode of Fightful Select Q&A, Sean Ross Sapp addressed Miro’s status and noted that as of right now there’s been no indication that his release request has been granted.
“I haven’t heard that he has gotten it as of yet. I have been given no indication that he got that release even though he asked for it.”
Miro last wrestled for AEW at the Worlds End pay-per-view in December of 2023 when he picked up a big win over Andrade. It’s been reported that he is healthy, but as of this writing he has not wrestled on AEW programming in 2024.
