On Tuesday night Luke Harper made a big announcement when he took to Twitter to tell the world that he has officially requested to be released from his WWE contract.
However, that doesn’t necessarily mean that the company will be granting his request.
Dave Meltzer noted on Wrestling Observer Radio that Luke Harper’s current contract is set to expire in November.
It’s possible that WWE could freeze his contract for the amount of time that he was out due to injury, but it’s reportedly unlikely that the company will do that.
It was also noted that AEW’s Vice President of Business Strategy, Chris Harrington, is close friends with Harper, so it’s possible that he could end up working with All Elite Wrestling in the future.
