Update On John Cena’s Status For WWE Clash At The Castle

John Cena was a mainstay on WWE programming for years, but it’s been a while since fans have seen him compete in the ring as he’s focused on his career in Hollywood. Cena last wrestled on TV when he challenged Roman Reigns at SummerSlam in 2021, but he didn’t wrestle at SummerSlam this year, and it doesn’t sound like fans should expect to see him at Clash at the Castle.

“I’ve been coming to Cardiff to fight for 15-plus years, and every time, it’s exciting and amazing. I’m not going to be at Clash,” John Cena said during a Q&A session at Wales Comic-Con.

John Cena made his return to WWE back in June for a special appearance celebrating his 20th anniversary with the company. During the appearance Cena said that he will wrestle again, he just doesn’t know when. When asked what his favorite match is Cena said it’s his next one.

“My answer is always the same. My next one. I haven’t yet hit the point where I’m fully retired, so I can always say my next one. Someday, I’ll have to reflect back and pick a favorite, but I know I’m not done with the ring, so my next one is my favorite one.”
