John Cena was the face of WWE for years, but nowadays Cena is focused on his acting career. Cena’s new career has certainly been keeping him busy, but he still makes appearances on WWE programming from time to time.
On the most recent episode of Raw in Boston, John Cena made his grand return to the red brand and he was confronted by United States Champion Austin Theory. Cena talked trash to Theory and ran him down after Theory offered to gift him a shot at the US Title at WrestleMania 39 next month. After going back and forth for a while John Cena finally agreed to accept the match and now the two stars are set to clash on the Grandest Stage of Them All.
Dave Meltzer addressed John Cena’s status on Wrestling Observer Radio and it was noted that Cena finished filming a movie earlier this month, but his time is limited as he has another film shoot coming up. The expectation is that Cena won’t be on TV every week heading into WrestleMania. However, it’s expected that when he’s free he’ll be there.
As of this writing WWE has yet to confirm when Cena will make his next appearance on TV. WrestleMania 39 will air live from SoFi Stadium on Saturday, April 1 and Sunday, April 2. Stay tuned for more updates as they become available.
