For years Jeff Hardy had been saying that he wanted to wrestle in a Hell in a Cell match before he retires, and on Sunday he got his wish when he faced off against Randy Orton.
Unfortunately for Hardy, it was Orton who picked up the win, and Hardy had to be stretchered out of the arena after he took a big bump which saw him fall from the ceiling of the cage through a table which was set up in the ring below.
WWE later shared a storyline update saying that Hardy was coughing up blood after the match, and he didn’t appear on SmackDown Live this week.
However, Jeff Hardy did work the WWE live event the next night in Oklahoma City.
The Wrestling Observer Newsletter is reporting that WWE confirmed Hardy will be working the upcoming WWE live events this weekend.
