Daniel Bryan’s wife Brie Bella appeared on Lilian Garcia’s podcast last week and started quite a buzz online when she talked about her husband possibly being cleared to wrestle.
It seems that this allowed a number of media outlets to believe that the former World Champion could be cleared to wrestle in the near future, with The Sun in the UK claiming that he could return to active competition.
It is the time of year that entries to the Rumble match begin to be speculated and the WWE Universe begin hyping up returns or debuts, but it seems that Bryan’s name won’t be in the hat ahead of the 30-man battle royal next month, as Dave Meltzer finally stepped in and put the rumors to bed on social media.
Bryan has always been a popular superstar when it comes to the WWE Universe and it seems that his fans desperately want him back in the ring, because they know that he himself wants to wrestle again. It seems that the speculation got a little bit out of hand following Brie’s podcast appearance but WWE’s head doctor has still not cleared Bryan to compete physically once again and he would not be able to step back into the ring in the coming months without Dr. Joseph Maroon’s clearance.
As of a few days ago, WWE had not cleared him. https://t.co/tQeaOEJaPM

I wish people would quit reading conspiracies into this. Dr. Joseph Maroon is in charge of WWE medical. He believes he is not healthy to wrestle. Many others have similarly not been cleared (Edge, Foley and others). The doctor, not Vince, will make whatever decision. https://t.co/5mnqqonLZg

The WWE's doctor is Joseph Maroon. He will make the decision. Bryan is caught in a weird time. Ten years ago he'd be wrestling. Ten years from now we'll have enough technology to know whether he should. Today there are differing doctors views on whether he should wrestle https://t.co/1Z0b0b6x3D
