CM Punk made his big return to professional wrestling in 2021 when he made his AEW debut on Rampage, but it was confirmed by Tony Khan earlier this month that Punk’s AEW contract had been terminated following a backstage incident that took place at All In.

As soon as CM Punk’s AEW departure was confirmed fans immediately started talking about the possibility of a WWE return for CM Punk, but it’s not clear at this point in time if the company would be interested in bringing him back.

Dave Meltzer recently addressed CM Punk’s status with WWE on Wrestling Observer Radio, and he claimed that there are a lot of people in management who have bad feelings when it comes to CM Punk.

“There’s a lot of people with bad feelings in management about CM Punk in WWE, but there’s nobody in management with a bad feeling about Matt Riddle.”

Details regarding a possible non-compete clause for CM Punk following his AEW departure have not been confirmed, but Punk recently joked that he will have a lot of free time over the next two months during a CFFC event where he was working as a commentator.

When Nick Khan was recently asked about a possible CM Punk return he praised Punk for his previous run with the company, and said that WWE respects Punk, but he did not give a direct answer as to whether or not there is interest in bringing CM Punk back to the company.

Stay tuned for updates.
