The Shield finally reunited this past Monday Night on Raw after more than three years of the trio taking over WWE as singles competitors.
It has been reported that The Shield’s reunion was something that was thrown together at the last minute because the company was aware that their box office attractions John Cena and Brock Lesnar were unavailable for this year’s Tables, Ladders and Chairs pay-per-view so WWE needed to ensure that they had a main event that would sell tickets.
Unsurprisingly, it is now being reported by Cagesideseats that The Shield are not expected to be together past the end of the year. Roman Reigns, Seth Rollins and Dean Ambrose are three of the hottest commodities in WWE right now, so it would make sense for WWE to want to continue to book the three stars as singles competitors heading into WrestleMania season.
It is thought that the group will remain together following TLC and through into Survivor Series where they will play their part in the annual Survivor Series match, but then it is unknown where the trio goes from there.
There is speculation that The Shield could split in the way that the trio did back in 2014, but this time it will be Dean Ambrose who turns his back on his brothers, so this could be an interesting few months for the Raw Tag Team Champions.
