With the Royal Rumble quickly approaching recently there’s been a lot of talk about surprise entrants in the Royal Rumble matches, and current IWGP Women’s Champion Kairi has been rumored for a WWE return.
The Wrestling Observer Newsletter reports that as of this past weekend there’s been no contact from WWE to Stardom regarding Kairi possibly appearing in the women’s Royal Rumble match.
However, it was noted that talks could come later as WWE puts the match together and needs 30 women. There will obviously be politics involved if WWE decides to pursue this option, but WWE dealt with politics last year when it came to using Impact Wrestling’s Mickie James and they managed to put the deal together.
The Royal Rumble will air live from the Alamodome in San Antonio on Saturday, January 28, 2023. Stay tuned for more updates as they become available.
