This week’s episode of Monday Night Raw was the first Raw of the year and the show featured a huge main event. CM Punk defended the WWE World Heavyweight Championship against Bron Breakker, and Punk ultimately retained.
At one point during the match Bron Breakker went for a frankensteiner off the top rope, but there was some concern for Breakker’s wellbeing after he ended up landing badly when he hit the mat.
Bryan Alvarez of the F4Wonline is reporting that Bron Breakker was checked out after the show and he was cleared by WWE medical. It was noted that the bad landing was a result of a miscommunication.
Unfortunately for Bron Breakker, Monday wasn’t his night, but it’s probably safe to say that he will still be chasing the title in the months to come. The Royal Rumble is only a few weeks away and Bron Breakker has been heavily rumored to be one of the favorites to win the men’s Royal Rumble match.
It’s been reported that the belief within WWE is that Bron Breakker will become a Roman Reigns type star, and will be the face of the company for years to come, so it will be interesting to see how things play out for him during WrestleMania season.
