Originally Roman Reigns was set to defend the Universal Championship against Braun Strowman and Brock Lesnar at Crown Jewel, and it was believed that Brock would be finishing up his obligations with WWE at the event.
But with Roman Reigns out of action, WWE signed Brock to a new deal, and he won the Universal Title once again when he defeated Braun Strowman in a singles match at Crown Jewel.
Dave Meltzer shared an update regarding Brock Lesnar’s contract status on MMAFighting.com and he noted that the new deal locks Lesnar in for multiple appearances, but the length of the contract is unknown.
However, it’s being reported that Lesnar is scheduled to work with WWE as late as WrestleMania in April of next year.
The deal does allow Brock to fight in UFC while under contract with WWE, but it’s not known when, the long rumored Daniel Cormier fight might happen.
