Update On Austin Aries’ In-Ring Return

Recent reports stated that Austin Aries was scheduled to make a surprise return to the ring and challenge Neville for the Cruiserweight Title at WrestleMania 33. However that surprise might have been ruined a little bit when WWE aired a promo package to hype Aries’ eventual in-ring return.

Rumors were that Austin Aries’ main roster debut was not only imminent, but had already happened when he joined the announce team. He hasn’t been seen on NXT since Shinsuke Nakamura broke his orbital bone and caused him to pull out of the Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic Tournament. He was suddenly placed in the commentary booth during cruiserweight matches on Raw and 205 Live and has been doing an outstanding job in that role.

Many were expecting The Greatest Man That Ever Lived’s return to action to come sooner than later, but most thought it would happen when Aries had heard enough of The King of the Cruiserweights and attacked the champion out of nowhere. Now WWE is airing video packages promoting his in-ring work which leads many to assume that he is due for an in-ring return very soon.

There has been no timetable given for his return but Aries said that if and when it happens, 205 Live will never be the same. You can see the video below which only features a fraction of Austin’s ability seeing that such a great portion of his history is likely to never be owned by WWE because TNA and ROH holds it in their respective libraries.
