Matt and Jeff Hardy were on a roll after they returned to WWE last year, but Jeff’s injury halted their momentum, and Jeff has been sitting on the sidelines following the shoulder surgery he underwent months ago.
It was recently reported on Wrestling Observer Radio that Jeff Hardy has started training for his in-ring return. At this point it’s not known when he will be cleared, but the hope is that he will be able to return for WrestleMania 34.
It’s been speculated that Jeff could end up working with his brother Matt to build the Woken Universe in WWE, but it’s also possible that he could end up getting another singles run. It’s worth noting that Matt Hardy has been teasing a reunion for his platoon on social media.
This week’s episode of WWE SmackDown Live took place from the Staples Center in Los Angeles, California, and it looks like some interesting faces were in the house for the event.
Richard Deitsch of Sports Illustrated is reporting that FOX Sports President Eric Shanks, FOX Sports Producer Jacob Ullman and broadcast personality Colin Cowherd were all in attendance for the SmackDown tapings.
WWE’s current TV deal with NBCUniversal is set to expire in 2019, and it’s been speculated that FOX may be interested in picking up Monday Night Raw and SmackDown Live. One way or another it’s expected that WWE will be announcing their new TV deal at some point this year.
