Update On Former WWE Champion Possibly Working With Impact Wrestling

The Impact Wrestling roster returned to Orlando, FL, this week for another round of TV tapings, and it looks like they’ve kicked things off in a big way.

There are still a several more days worth of TV to be taped in Orlando, so it’s safe to say that the company has a few more surprises on the way.

It was recently reported that Impact had been in touch with former WWE Champion Rey Mysterio about possibly working the TV tapings this week, but it doesn’t look like Mysterio will be appearing.

PWInsider is now reporting that talks between the two sides were so close that travel arrangements were being made for the TV tapings, but the deal fell through. Mysterio is now unavailable for the tapings as he’s traveling and heading back to Mexico.

Talk of Rey Mysterio working with Impact Wrestling has been going on for months now, so it’s possible that they could be picked up a later time. Impact clearly seems to be interested in working with the legendary wrestler.

We’ll have to wait and see what happens in the future, but as of right now it seems that Rey Mysterio is enjoying his free agent status.
