It’s been almost two years since Daniel Bryan officially retired from in-ring competition, but Bryan hasn’t given up on his dream of returning to the ring. He’s spent the better part of the last two years working with doctors outside of WWE, but WWE’s doctors still won’t clear him, and it doesn’t look like that’s going to change anytime soon.
Bryan’s possible in-ring return is always a hot topic in the world of professional wrestling, but it’s been an even hotter topic as of late thanks to recent betting odds showing Bryan as one of the top favorites to win the 2018 Royal Rumble match.
The shift in odds has led to speculation that someone on the inside may know something regarding a return to the ring for Daniel Bryan at the Royal Rumble, but the Wrestling Observer Newsletter is reporting that Bryan still has not been cleared by WWE.
It’s always possible that WWE could try to pull off some sort of angle where Bryan wins without taking a bump, but due to the fact that the company doesn’t intend to clear him that wouldn’t make any sense long term.
Daniel Bryan has said in the past that if the company doesn’t clear him for WrestleMania, then he assumes that he won’t be cleared at all.
However, he has noted that he will be considering a return to the ring when his WWE contract expires in September.
With Roman Reigns still scheduled to challenge for the Universal Championship at WrestleMania 34, it’s rumored that a SmackDown star will be winning the Royal Rumble.
This isn’t an update. It’s reaffirming what everyone already knew.
I hope you guys don’t pay this author, this was a waste of everyone’s time.
