WWE kicked off their partnership with Saudi Arabia in 2018 with the Greatest Royal Rumble and the company typically holds multiple annual events in the area. However, it seems that the upcoming Night of Champions PLE could be in jeopardy.

WrestleVotes Radio on Fightful Select is reporting that sources in Stamford believe it’s “doubtful at best” that the upcoming Night of Champions premium live event will take place in Saudi Arabia due to the ongoing conflicts across the region. It was noted that the situation could always change, but as of right now that’s the word on the plans for Night of Champions in June.

Last year the Night of Champions PLE aired live from Riyadh, Saudi Arabia and the show featured several big matches such as John Cena vs. CM Punk for the Undisputed WWE Championship, and the finals for the King of the Ring and Queen of the Ring tournaments.

Cody Rhodes won the King of the Ring tournament and he went on to defeat John Cena in the night 2 SummerSlam main event to win the Undisputed WWE Championship for the second time in his career. There’s currently no word on if WWE is planning to bring the King of the Ring and Queen of the Ring tournaments back for Night of Champions this year.

Stay tuned for updates.
