Kevin Owens is a man of many words, and he sometimes finds his own foot in his mouth. Kevin Owens and Chris Jericho opened tonight’s post-Royal Rumble Raw broadcast, first they mimicked Enzo and Big Cass’ routine, then Jericho ordered everybody to use #61MinuteMan on Twitter while bragging about breaking the record for longest cumulative all-time total time spent in a Royal Rumble match.
Weeks ago Kevin Owens promised Braun Stroman a Universal Title opportunity if he was able to help with Roman Reigns, and Strowman came out tonight to remind Owens of this fact tonight.
It is possible that Kevin didn’t think he would have retained against Roman at the Royal Rumble, or maybe it was just an instance of making a desperate promise to retain his Universal Title. Regardless of the reason, Kevin Owens is probably regretting this promise at this point.
When Kevin tried to squirm out of the match citing the injuries that he incurred last night in his successful title defense against Roman Reigns at the Royal Rumble, Mick Foley came down and made the match official. It looks like the Universal Title will be defended again tonight to really jumpstart the road to WrestleMania.
