Back in November, Logan Paul challenged Rey Mysterio for the United States Championship at Crown Jewel, and it was Logan Paul who picked up the win then walked out with the gold.
Logan Paul hasn’t defended the United States Championship since he won the belt at Crown Jewel, but the United States Title Tournament has been playing out on SmackDown over the last few weeks, and Kevin Owens faces off against Santos Escobar in the finals on this week’s episode of SmackDown.
Before the match kicked off Logan Paul made his way down to the commentary table with the United States Championship belt on his shoulder. Logan Paul watched on as Kevin Owens and Santos Escobar brought the fight to one another in an even back and forth match.
The end of the match came when Kevin Owens hit the pop-up powerbomb followed by the stunner to put Santos Escobar away. After the match Logan Paul got on the microphone and congratulated Kevin Owens for earning the opportunity to face “the greatest United States Champion in history.”
Logan Paul then said Kevin Owens beating him for the US Title would be like the Vancouver Canucks winning the Stanley Cup. Kevin Owens was wearing a cast on his right arm and he hit Logan Paul with the cast to knock him down as the segment came to an end.
The commentary team then confirmed that Kevin Owens will challenge Logan Paul for the United States Championship at the Royal Rumble. Stay tuned for updates.
