Could The Undertaker vs. Sting Still Happen?

Fans waited a long time for Sting to sign with WWE, and he finally made his debut with the company at Survivor Series in 2014. Sting interfered in the Team Cena vs. Team Authority match, and he kicked off a feud with Triple H that lasted several months.

Sting went on to lose to Triple H at WrestleMania 31, and he later challenged Seth Rollins for the WWE Championship in his final match at Night of Champions in 2015.

The former WCW World Champion’s WWE career was very brief, and he retired at the WWE Hall of Fame ceremony last year.

Even though Sting did announce his retirement, he has said that there’s still a part of him that’s still attached to the thought of wrestling The Undertaker.

For many years Sting vs. Taker was a dream match, but WWE never pulled the trigger, and now it looks unlikely that it will ever happen.

Undertaker lost to Roman Reigns at WrestleMania 33, and even though it’s been speculated that he’s now retired from in ring competition, no official announcement has been made.

Even though both men are past their prime, Sting vs. Taker would still be a big money match, and a fan recently asked Dave Meltzer or the Wrestling Observer Newsletter if there’s any chance of a possible dual retirement match happening in the future.

Meltzer reiterated that if given the chance to face Taker, Sting would probably take it, but it’s unlikely that Sting will ever be cleared for in-ring competition again.

In the world of professional wrestling we’ve seen a lot of dream matches happen over the years, but sadly it seems that we’ll always wonder what might have been when it comes to this one.
