Has The Undertaker All But Confirmed That He Will Face John Cena At WrestleMania 33?

The Undertaker is one of the biggest stars in WWE history and an appearance at next year’s WrestleMania would be his 25th match on the grandest stage of them all which is incredible by anyone’s expectations, the only problem is whether or not The Undertaker will actually appear.

Recently it has been reported that The Deadman has been tweeting from a different Social Media account and that he has confirmed he will be at WrestleMania 33 and retweeted a Tweet that talked about a match with John Cena.

Unsurprisingly these reports were false and the Twitter account is quite obviously fake, The Deadman appearing on Social Media would definitely ruin fans illusions of the former World Champion, so it seems he has never decided to join in with the craze.

The most recent believable reports concerning The Undertaker have stated that he is not on speaking terms with WWE Chairman Vince McMahon and he isn’t even answering his phone calls.

Vince apparently wanted his son Shane to win the Hell in a Cell match at WrestleMania 32 earlier this year and since then he and Undertaker have been at odds. Vince wanted Undertaker to appear at his second straight SummerSlam event next month after he faced Brock Lesnar at last year’s event in a match that was deemed “to big for WrestleMania” but it seems it is highly unlikely that he will return in time for this years event.

John Cena vs The Undertaker was scheduled to happen at WrestleMania 32 but when it was made obvious that Cena would not have recovered from his surgery in time Vince had to call in Shane and try and rectify the situation.

The match itself didn’t make any sense since Shane lost and Vince has allowed him to control Monday night Raw anyway, but it meant that The Deadman won and was able to continue his legacy, which was on the line.

At 51 years old Undertaker must be thinking about walking away from the business now, he has a wife who is a former WWE wrestler and children who he will want to spend more time with. When his streak ended back in 2014 many fans thought this would be the last they would see of The Undertaker but instead WWE have found a way to keep him around.

Last year he faced Bray Wyatt in a match that also made very little sense considering Bray calls himself ‘The New Face of Fear’ despite the fact that he was defeated by the epitome of fear itself. Taker was then brought back at last year’s Battleground to finally put the demons to rest and gain revenge on Brock for the end of the streak.

Sadly it was Brock who came out of Survivor Series on top and proved that he was the real winner after all when he defeated Undertaker at the event he first debuted on back in 1990.

Contractually The Undertaker is only obliged to appear at one event a year and since he appears at every WrestleMania, he is already fulfilling that obligation. Given that he and Vince are still not on talking terms, it seems highly unlikely that he will appear at Summerslam and that he is tweeting about a future he is currently unaware of.

It is likely that if he is once again cleared for action at next year’s WrestleMania then he will definitely appear and fulfil the 25 year streak on the grandest stage of them all, and it would be the perfect way for him to bow out. Whether that is against John Cena or another hand picked opponent is currently unknown but it is way to soon to think that any opponent is set in stone.

The Undertaker and Vince will have to speak at some point and maybe he will be facing John Cena at next year’s event. It would be the perfect match for him to end his career on and it could also spark the beginning of the long awaited Cena heel turn. It would be a fantastic angle to set up and WWE would be foolish not to allow it.

But as for right now it seems this is just speculation, these are just tweets from a fake social media account and Undertaker is currently enjoying some much needed recovery time.
