Sharing accounts for streaming services is pretty common these days. People do it with Netflix, Hulu, Amazon Prime, the WWE Network etc. etc. But WWE is now cracking down on shared WWE Network accounts and it looks like wrestling fans around the world are going to have to make some budget cuts to cough up the $9.99 a month to use the service.
It was reported via InsidePulse in February of 2015 that WWE had made some changes to their terms of service notifying fans that they would be limited to streaming the WWE Network on one device at a time. However the company didn’t seem to be serious about enforcing the policy until now. Fans who are logged in on multiple devices are now getting error messages that say “stream limit exceeded” or “too many usage attempts.” The Help section advises users who get this message to log out of all devices and then log back in if they are experiencing problems and it reads as follows:
If you see an error that says “STREAM LIMIT EXCEEDED” or “TOO MANY USAGE ATTEMPTS” it means your WWE Network account is in use on another device. WWE Network allows one Network stream per login.
To resolve:
• Log out of all devices
• Log back in to the primary device you are trying to view on
If you have shared your account with friends or family, they may be using WWE Network while you’re trying watch some content. WWE Network allows one Network stream per login.
If you think someone is using your account without your permission:
• Log out of all devices
• Change your WWE Password
• Log back in to the primary device you are trying to view on
It’s worth noting that we did just attempt to use the WWE Network on multiple devices and it worked, albeit much slower than usual. But we’ve also received many messages from fans reporting that they’re having issues so it looks like WWE is starting to get serious about enforcing the 1 device at a time rule.
WWE recently reported via a press release that the WWE Network has 1.82 million subscribers as of April 4, 2016. According to the report out of the 1.82 million subscribers 1.4 million are paying for the service.
