If you don’t catch NXT every week, this is definitely a good week to watch. WWE’s developmental brand has a stacked show in store for fans.
Tommaso Ciampa and Johnny Gargano are teaming up to take on Akam and Rezar once more in an attempt to regain their NXT Tag Team Titles. DIY has been vying to get their tag gold back since they lost the belts at Takeover: San Antonio in shocking fashion to the winners of the Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic.
Authors of Pain are pretty serious about keeping those belts, though. They’ve been running roughshod through the tag division since their debut and they’re not stopping now that they’ve achieved the top spot in the NXT tag team ranks.
AOP aren’t the only ones putting their belts on the line this Wednesday as Asuka is also defending her title against Peyton Royce. Royce alongside her BFF Billie Kay has been moving her way up the women’s ranks and The Empress of Tomorrow is prepared to sit her back down.
Viceland is the brainchild of Vice Media founder Shane Smith and features some of the grittiest, revealing, and unforgiving documentaries and original programming on cable television.
Fans of professional wrestling will have one more reason to love this treasure of cable tv as PWInsider is reporting that Viceland is looking to produce a weekly series about pro wrestling.
The network is no stranger to professional wrestling as a few of its current shows have featured professional wrestlers in the past and Vice recently did an amazing pieces about the Young Bucks and Chyna.
Reports are that Dutch Mantel has been contacted to be involved in the series in some capacity, so they’re working with people who are very much engrained in wrestling. The tentative title for this upcoming project is: Untold Stories in Professional Wrestling.
With a title like that, we’re excited to see what they come up with.
