This week on Friday Night SmackDown, Zelina Vega confronted Adam Pearce backstage and said that she has to challenge Rhea Ripley for the SmackDown Women’s Championship at Backlash. She told him that she’s ready and the match has to happen in Puerto Rico. Pearce told her that he would talk to Rhea Ripley and upper management then get back to her. WWE later confirmed that the match has been made official.

It’s also been announced that Seth Rollins will be facing Omos at the event, and Austin Theory will defend the WWE United States Championship against Bronson Reed and Bobby Lashley in a triple threat match.
WWE Backlash will air live on Saturday, May 6 and the current card can be seen below.
