This week’s episode of SmackDown Live featured a few thrilling moments, and one of those moments was the debut of The Bludgeon Brothers. Former Wyatt Family members Luke Harper and Erick Rowan finally returned to TV, and they faced off against The Hype Bros in a tag team match.
The match didn’t go all that well for The Hype Bros and it looks like there’s definitely some tension between Zack Ryder and Mojo Rawley.
The future looks bright for The Bludgeon Brothers, but it appears that WWE officials have decided to make a small change for Erick Rowan and Luke Harper. The official roster on WWE.com indicates that Erick Rowan and Luke Harper have dropped their first names, and they will now just be known as Rowan and Harper.
Rowan and Harper have been trying to distance themselves from their Wyatt Family past, even though Bray Wyatt doesn’t seem to be taking it all that well, so this could just be another way of updating their characters so they can move forward as The Bludgeon Brothers.
It’s not uncommon nowadays for WWE Superstars to have their names shortened as we’ve seen in the past with wrestlers such as Rusev, Cesaro and Elias.
