The Royal Rumble pay-per-view is less than a week away, and WWE recently confirmed that Impact Wrestling Knockouts Champion Mickie James will be walking through the forbidden door to compete in the women’s Royal Rumble. It looks like WWE also attempted to get current Impact Knockouts Tag Team Champions The IInspiration to appear at the event, but they weren’t interested.
Fightful Select is now reporting that WWE reached out to the former IIconics about a possible appearance at the Royal Rumble, and they turned the offer down. It’s being said that they didn’t think it was the right time to return to WWE for a one off appearance, and that they’re currently happy with the career path they’re on.
It was also noted that Impact sources said they would have cleared the appearance if the former WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions wanted to go through with it. According to Fightful, Cassie Lee and Jessie McKay were not the only released WWE stars who were contacted for the event.
The Royal Rumble pay-per-view will air live on Saturday, January 29th, and you can check out the current card below. Stay tuned for updates.
